The Flag Represented the Number of Graduates, Former Students, and Faculty/Staff Members Who Served in the Armed Forces in WWII.
The top number indicated the number who had died while the bottom number indicated the number who served in the Armed Forces.

*It should be noted that the actual number of former students of Proviso Township High School who died in WWII is actually 194. In addition, one former staff member died in the war. The number who served was actually 4,780.
