Death March 2

 

 

In this drawing by Jack Gold, a POW attempting to get water from an artesian well on the Death March is ordered to keep moving by a Japanese guard.

American POWs on the Death March being given a break.  These breaks were often referred to as the "sun treatment" because they were left sitting in the sun without water for hours.

Japanese troops stop and search American POWs on the Death March.  What one Japanese soldier left the POW keep another soldier would take.  This was a posed photo for the Japanese press.
