        - captured and held prisoner for 2 hours - escaped

Killed in Action:

    - 27 January 1945 - near Mendell, Belgium

        - his company was attacking a village

        - drove the Germans out of village 

         - German artillery shells the village

           -  Mullin was hit by shrapnel 

 - Approximate time of death: 11:00 AM

    - memorial service was held at Proviso Evangelical Lutheran Church - 26 August 1945

Reburied:

    - November 1947 - Glen Oak Cemetery - Hillside, Illinois
