Poem Written by Mother of Melvin Madero of C Company

To Our Brave Boys

Long will we remember
How you fought and died.
How you suffered and bled.
You who were our pride.

Day and night you fought
to defeat the foe;
Hardships of a tropic isle
Were hard to bear, we know.

Fearless and undaunted,
Outnumber one to ten,
You are no longer boys.
Strife made you gallant men.

Love of home and country
Made you brave and true.
The flag we love and reverence
Will be saved by men like you.

Your spirit like a torch
Will turn within each soul;
And victory you fought for
Will be our nation's goal.
