Proviso Township High School Goes To War

 

Students at Proviso Township High School listen to President Roosevelt's address to Congress asking that a Declaration of War against Japan be made.

Among the students were those individuals whose brothers would soon be fighting for their lives in the Philippine Islands.

 

 

Proviso Township High School students listen to President Roosevelt's address to Congress in the school field house.  After the address, many of the male students left the field house and enlisted in the military.

 

 

 Proviso Pageant reporter Edna-Mae McCarroll interviews Lud Larsen and Ed Hawkins. They were the first two Proviso students to enlist in the military after Pearl Harbor.
